About us and what we do

A Purpose Outside of Everyday Life was originally created as a FB page to bring awareness to suicide and mental health issues in memory of my youngest brother, who died by suicide August 19,2013.  Not long after he passed, i fell into a deep depression.  I started seeing a therapist 2 years later and began my personal journey of healing.  A big part of healing for me is helping others and that is why i decided to turn the FB page into a nonprofit support program. My goal is to let others know they matter, they are not alone, and someone does care about them.

The support program is designed to help in whatever ways we can. We offer online support, text, call, and in person interaction.  Instead of a normal group setting, the in person interaction will be tailored to fit you.  We offer arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, animal interaction, a listening ear, outings, help with finding resources, help making phone calls.  Whatever your need may be we will do our best to help or help find a place that can. During the warmer months we will rent booths at the local flea markets to display our art and sell our handmade items, everyone is welcomed to sell their work at these events. We will take trips to the local nursing homes with gifts or just to spend time with our elders. We will have donation drives throughout the year for various other small nonprofits.

There is a lot more to A Purpose Outside of Everyday Life and we are constantly evolving, so give me a call, an email or text and I will gladly answer your questions, Amber
